Skyline Tower
A downloadable game
A tower is not a building. It's a transport problem with rent attached.
Skyline Tower is a modern take on SimTower: you build floor by floor — offices,
flats, hotel rooms, shops, clinics — and then you find out that none of it works
if people can't get there. The lift is the game. Undersize it and your tenants
leave; zone it well and the same cabins move twice the people.
WHAT'S IN IT
• 80 kinds of unit, each drawn so you recognise it without reading the label —
a gym looks like a gym, a karaoke bar looks like a karaoke bar
• People with a day: they arrive, work, go out for lunch, queue, get annoyed,
go home. Men, women, children, families, pets
• Tenants who choose you back. A quiet high floor attracts a law firm paying 40%
above market; the same room next to a karaoke bar gets a call centre paying 20%
below. Building well doesn't just fill faster — it fills better
• A satisfaction panel that shows the actual arithmetic, not a vague bar
• 5 scenarios with a situation, a goal and a deadline
• A weekly challenge: same seed, same rule, same 60 days for everyone playing
that week
• Photo mode, for when the tower is worth showing to someone
THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU
Everything below lands in one place — the building manager's inbox — and only
what has a clock running on it interrupts you.
• Complaints. A flat wall-to-wall with a karaoke bar is a complaint that stays
until you fix it. Pay for acoustic insulation, on the flat or on the karaoke
bar — whichever is cheaper depends on how wide they are
• Parties. Somebody throws one at 9pm and the neighbours want you to do
something. Warn them (free, doesn't always work), fine them (works, and the
tenant sours), or ignore it — and the city may fine the building instead of
the resident. Who throws parties depends on who you rented to
• Fire, with three causes. The kitchen. A short circuit — which grows with your
electrical overload, so the substation you built for the lifts now works
against fire too. And the party that ended badly
• The fire brigade, on the street. The truck pulls up under the fire and the
aerial ladder reaches the tenth floor. Above that they climb inside, and how
long that takes is decided by the service lift you did or didn't build
• A lift stuck with people inside. Pay for emergency maintenance or wait an hour
and a half while the whole floor gets angry
• Burst pipes, and an anchor tenant who gives you six days to fix what they're
complaining about before they walk
• And the good days: a film crew wants your lobby, a famous guest checks in, the
press writes about the building
FOUR SEASONS THAT CHANGE THE TRADE
Not a thermometer — a different set of shops. An ice cream parlour does nearly
double in summer and almost nothing in winter; a coffee shop is the exact
opposite. Steakhouses are a night business, bakeries a morning one. Heat drives
the air conditioning up your electricity bill, and an overcast noon turns the
lights on. Click the weather to see exactly what rises and what falls — the
panel reads from the same numbers the simulation uses.
The city outside is still there too: blackouts, bus strikes, property fairs and
a council inspection with a deadline.
SEVEN LANGUAGES, ALL COMPLETE
English, Português (Brasil), Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Русский.
Not just the menus — every line in the game.
THIS IS A CLOSED BETA
It's free and it's finished enough to play for hours, but nobody has playtested
it except me. That's exactly why it's here. If you get lost, bored, or stuck,
that is the single most useful thing you can tell me — there's a "Report for the
developer" button in the game that writes a file with everything I need.
No install, no account, no internet. One .exe. Delete the file to uninstall.
